Budget and Financial Manager

Join the Finance team as a Budget and Financial Manager. In this role, you are accountable for budget development, monitoring and forecasting for a private, nonprofit based in Burlington, VT. This position offers a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual and financial budgets for individual programs
  • Train and support program directors in their budget development/review process and relating their program decisions to their impact on the budget.
  • Manage and track multiple contracts and grants. Fulfill all the requirements for the Federal and State Grants and contracts reporting; monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Assist leadership in making decisions about the agency's strategic direction, significant policy changes and problem-solving for program issues, offering finance expertise.
  • Monitor cost center budgets, analyzing income and expense reports on a regular basis; preparing financial reports for the division director; and providing interpretations and recommendations.
  • Serve on various agency committees and work groups, as assigned.
    Recommend strategies to deal with financial trends in the community which could impact the programs.
  • To ensure fiscal solvency, reconcile balance sheet and income accounts monthly to aid in preparation for the year end Audits.

Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the field of Budget Development, Accounting, Finance, Business
  • Computer proficiency--especially Spreadsheets
  • Valid driver’s License, and use of a personal vehicle

Structure:

  • Full time (37.5 hrs/wk)
  • Exempt
  • Starting at $77,354.93
  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate to experience
