Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Building and Grounds Worker to assist with the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of public buildings, outdoor facilities, athletic fields, and surrounding grounds. This position involves a variety of hands-on maintenance, landscaping, and light construction duties to help ensure facilities and outdoor areas remain safe, clean, and well-maintained.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in general maintenance, landscaping, or light construction. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, operating landscaping and construction equipment, performing basic repairs, and completing physical tasks throughout the workday. Job Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work on public buildings, grounds, equipment, and outdoor facilities.

• Repair and maintain playground equipment, fencing, water lines, and other building components.

• Maintain, clean, and prepare athletic fields, parks, and recreational grounds.

• Operate landscaping equipment, including lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, edgers, and other power tools.

• Complete basic carpentry, plumbing, concrete, and painting repairs.

• Assist with the installation of turf, trees, shrubs, and other landscaping materials.

• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, tools, and vehicles to identify maintenance needs.

• Perform minor vehicle and equipment repairs as needed.

• Assist with facility clean-up, debris removal, and general groundskeeping.

• Transport tools, equipment, and materials between job sites.

• Follow safety procedures and maintain an organized and hazard-free work environment.

• Perform other general maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• At least one year of experience in general maintenance, landscaping, or light construction.

• Previous experience operating landscaping or construction equipment.

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, or general repair work.

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to perform physical labor, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying materials throughout the workday.

• Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to perform a variety of hands-on tasks.
