Building/Facilities Housekeeping Specialist

As a key member of the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) operations team, the Facilities Housekeeping Specialist supports the overall function, cleanliness, and mechanical upkeep of a premier commercial property. This role focuses on basic building maintenance-including HVAC assistance, light plumbing, electrical, and general repairs-while also ensuring clean and presentable common areas. You will play a vital role in creating a professional, well-maintained environment for tenants and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks, including:
• Replacing light bulbs and ballasts
• Supporting the HVAC mechanic with filter changes and minor servicing
• Addressing light plumbing issues (e.g., clogs, leaks)
• Conducting building walk-throughs to identify mechanical or repair needs
• Respond to tenant service requests related to facility or maintenance issues
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality in:
• Common areas, including atriums, stairwells, lobbies, restrooms, and kitchens
• Conference rooms, the Design Lounge, and management offices
• Elevators and freight areas
• Assist with furniture upkeep and occasional setup or relocation needs
• Provide backup support for trash removal and janitorial services as needed
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure safety, efficiency, and timely issue resolution

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in maintenance trades is a plus
• 2+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities support, or general trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
• Experience in a commercial, hospitality, or retail setting preferred
• Ability to diagnose basic mechanical issues and complete minor repairs
• Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with tenants and team members
• Self-starter with the ability to follow schedules and respond quickly to issues as they arise
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks, including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
