Building Inspector

PRIMARY DUTY:Perform inspections of residential and commercial projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances. The position is under general supervision of the Building Official but is expected to exercise independent judgment based upon code knowledge and experience to render decision/direction to contractors and the public regarding field inspection matters. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• High school diploma or equivalent.• Two years as a municipal Building Inspector.• Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED• Valid Texas Class "C" Drivers Licenses with a good driving record.• State of Texas Plumbing Inspectors Licenses, as Issued by the State of Texas.• Residential Energy Inspector/Plans Examiner
