Bus Driver

Job Summary

The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Sodexo-owned or Sodexo-operated buses and passenger vehicles in compliance with Ohio Revised Code (ORC), Ohio Administrative Code (OAC), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), and applicable Sodexo policies. The position supports the transportation needs of students, employees, and authorized guests while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and public service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate buses and passenger vehicles in a safe, courteous, and lawful manner

• Transport passengers to approved on- and off-site destinations

• Conduct required vehicle inspections in accordance with regulations

• Maintain accurate logs and inspection documentation

• Respond appropriately to accidents, breakdowns, or emergencies

• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues

• Follow all safety rules, traffic laws, and Sodexo/Ohio Northern University policies

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Licenses, Certifications, and Endorsements

• Valid Ohio CDL, Class B or higher

• Passenger (P) Endorsement

• Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate

• Driving record meeting Sodexo and Ohio Northern University insurance requirements
