POSITION DESCRIPTION
Assisting in the educational growth of Huron Valley School students by providing safe and reliable transportation.
Position Type: Transportation/Bus Driver
Location: Transportation Department
Salary: Per schedule for Substitute Bus Driver until fully credentialed & granted continuous employment. $19.55 - $22.55 once fully credentialed & granted continuous employment.
Reports To: Transportation Manager
Status: School Year 2026-2027
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Hours: Per schedule for training and continuous employment

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successfully pass interview for bus driver.
Successfully pass Huron Valley Schools transportation department training program.
Classroom instruction
Behind the wheel instruction
Written and driving skills test
Meet Michigan school bus driver certification requirements.
Minimum hours of instruction
Satisfactorily pass knowledge examination.
Meet state and federal requirements for appropriate licensing.
Commercial Driver's license with Group B, P & S endorsements with air brakes
Meet D.O.T. physical examination requirements.
Meet local, county and state standards for driving skills test.
Meet local and state standards for driving record check.
Must have never failed a local and state mandated requirement of drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment, on the job, or random, and must continue to do so through course of employment.
Be declared a continuous employee by the Department Supervisor once all expectations have been met
Essential Functions
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma and/or related experience.
LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
