Bus Maintenance Technician

Cathay Transportation is seeking a dependable and skilled Bus Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing buses to ensure our fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of vehicle safety and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety inspections on buses.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and air brake systems.
• Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and other scheduled maintenance.
• Inspect and repair engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering components, and cooling systems.
• Identify mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Communicate maintenance concerns and repair needs to the maintenance supervisor.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in diesel mechanics, automotive repair, or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and vehicle diagnostic equipment safely.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL and/or relevant mechanic certifications preferred, depending on job requirements.
• Ability to lift heavy components and perform physical tasks associated with vehicle maintenance.
