Job Title: Business Analyst – Consultant (12770)
Location: Columbia, SC 29210
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 4 days onsite and 1 day remote
Candidate Requirement: Must currently be a South Carolina resident. No relocation allowed.
Contract Duration: 12 months
Interview Process: One virtual interview

Position Overview: The Business Analyst will serve as the liaison between business stakeholders, project management teams, and IT teams. The consultant will support business process analysis, Medicaid system integration, requirements development, cross-functional coordination, and delivery of solutions aligned with the program's operational and modernization goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business operations, processes, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement or automation.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
  • Facilitate communication between business units, technical teams, vendors, and project leadership.
  • Lead business-process redesign, documentation, design sessions, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Support Medicaid Enterprise System integration across modules and workstreams.
  • Perform business-process analysis and project performance assessments.
  • Coordinate priorities, dependencies, and resources across multiple projects.
  • Ensure project deliverables align with operational principles and program objectives.
  • Facilitate issue-resolution sessions and provide recommendations to keep assignments on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators to track project progress and business-integration goals.
  • Train and mentor team members in delivering high-quality business solutions.
  • Provide regular updates regarding project status, risks, issues, and assigned deliverables.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field, or at least 7 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial healthcare.
  • 3+ years of experience with State Medicaid payer-system integration and delivery.
  • 3+ years of familiarity with Medicaid Information Technology Architecture business architecture principles.
  • 6+ years of experience with standard data structures, electronic data interchange processes, and related file formats.
  • 6+ years of knowledge of business processes, methods, procedures, and supporting technologies.
  • 6+ years of experience working within complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with diverse business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience with large-scale business and technology integration.
  • 6+ years of knowledge of federal Medicaid certification requirements and processes.
  • 6+ years of project-management experience.
