Position Summary
The Business Analyst, Contract Operations acts as a functional owner of CLM system quality and readiness, ensuring that requirements are sound, configurations are correct, systems are tested thoroughly, documentation is current, and users are prepared. The role demands strong analytical rigor, testing discipline, and documentation skills, as well as a practical understanding of CLM platform architecture and business process design. This individual will serve as a key operational contributor to the COMPASS program, bridging functional requirements and system capabilities to support scalable and compliant contract operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly migration activities, including transfer of agreements and associated data from the legacy CLM system to the COMPASS solution, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the process.
- Develop and maintain reports based on business areas' reporting requirements, drawing on COMPASS data to support contract operations decision-making and performance tracking.
- Conduct system testing activities for CLM configurations, updates, and new deployments, documenting results and coordinating resolution of identified defects.
- Maintain the following sections of the Configuration Management Record (CMR) for each template: Document Information; Section 1 – Template Attributes; Section 2B – Conditional Clauses – Condition Logic.
- Collaborate with the Operational Paralegal as needed to ensure proper governance of CMRs, including consistency, completeness, and version accuracy across all maintained records.
- Document and drive Class I CLM changes through to completion and resolution, ensuring that change requests are tracked, reviewed, approved, and properly reflected in system configurations and CMRs.
- Support the drafting of Class II Test Plans for major releases.
- Oversee the COMPASS Support Teams Channel, monitoring user-reported issues and escalating to Technical Support channel as appropriate.
- Serve as Database Administrator for the COMPASS solution, including management of database components as required.
- Coordinate with IT for user access and permissions management within the CLM platform, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and role assignments.
- Develop training materials for the COMPASS system solution and conduct training sessions for the organization, including onboarding of new users and refresher training as system capabilities evolve.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in a business analyst, legal operations, contracts management, or CLM system administrator capacity.
- Demonstrated experience with CLM platforms, system configuration, and data migration activities.
- Prior experience developing reports, managing databases, and producing training materials in a business or legal operations environment.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle concepts, document governance practices, and change management protocols.
