Title: Business Analyst (AS400)
Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid – 4days/ week onsite – 1 day/week remote)
Contract Duration: October 2026 to March 2028 (with strong possibility of an extension)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst to serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Warehouse Management Systems supporting a large-scale Parts Distribution and Supply Chain environment. This role combines business analysis, application support, solution design, and technical development responsibilities within an AS400-based warehouse ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in PKMS v2003 Warehouse Management System, strong AS400/RPG IV development experience, and a solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, order fulfilment, and distribution center processes. This individual will play a critical role in supporting production operations, delivering system enhancements, leading complex projects, and ensuring seamless integration across warehouse technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary SME for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), supporting production operations, system enhancements, and strategic projects.
- Partner with project managers, business stakeholders, and IT teams to analyze requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements for warehouse and supply chain initiatives.
- Perform detailed analysis, functional design, solution development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
- Design and recommend application architecture and technical solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to warehouse users, operations teams, and business stakeholders.
- Coordinate and execute all phases of testing, including:
- Unit Testing
- Integration Testing
- System Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Support and maintain AS400-based warehouse applications and integrations.
- Administer and maintain Aldon Change Management processes and deployments.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls and IT governance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and support communication protocols involving:
- RF Handheld Scanners
- Voice Picking Systems
- Zebra Printers
- Warehouse Peripheral Devices
- Provide regular status reporting and project updates to leadership and project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Strong functional expertise with WMS PKMS (v2003).
- Hands-on experience with:
- AS400 (IBM i) platform
- RPG IV Development
- CL Programming
- AS400 Database/File Configuration
- Strong understanding of AS400 Journals and transaction processing.
- Experience supporting legacy and modernized warehouse applications.
- Experience with:
- MQ Messaging
- FTP Integrations
- Aldon Change Management
- DBU
- Python (preferred)
- Advanced requirements gathering and documentation skills.
- Ability to create detailed:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Functional Design Specifications
- Technical Documentation
- Test Plans and Test Scripts
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
