Job Title: Business Development Associate

Monthly Pay: $3,964 - $5,334 USD per month

Summary:

Working in a CRM such as HubSpot, the Business Development Associate learns to research prospects, organize outreach, and develop early business conversations. The associate sits within the business development team, works under a business development team lead, and collaborates with sales representatives and marketing colleagues. This is a fully remote, desk-based work from home position in Oregon, United States. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review assigned prospect queues, inbound inquiries, and outreach tasks, checking priority and previous contact history before starting each conversation.
  • Research prospective businesses using public business websites, verifying their activities, business needs, and relevant contacts against the team's target customer criteria.
  • Check contact details and duplicate entries in a CRM such as HubSpot, recording research sources and clear reasons for pursuing each prospect.
  • Conduct introductory calls through a Contact-center phone system such as RingCentral and send approved outreach emails tailored to the prospect's business context.
  • Ask discovery questions about business challenges, current approaches, priorities, and purchasing timelines, using consultative selling principles without making unsupported promises.
  • Present approved product or service information and connect relevant capabilities to stated needs, referring detailed solution questions to the appropriate sales representative.
  • Arrange qualified discovery meetings using a Scheduling and calendar such as Microsoft Outlook, confirming attendance, meeting purpose, and the assigned sales contact.
  • Record conversation outcomes, qualification details, objections, next steps, and handoff notes so sales colleagues can continue discussions without repeating initial questions.
  • Follow up at agreed intervals, respect requests to stop contact, and escalate unclear qualification decisions or unresolved prospect questions to the business development team lead.
  • Review pipeline activity with the team lead; quality is judged through research accuracy, timely outreach, complete notes, appropriate qualification, and dependable follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required; related experience in business development, prospect outreach, or customer conversations is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of business development, business-to-business selling, and how introductory conversations support a sales pipeline.
  • Ability to research businesses, distinguish relevant prospects, and summarize findings using accurate, concise notes.
  • Willingness to learn CRM navigation, contact updates, call handling, and calendar coordination through guided practice on example systems.
  • Clear verbal and written communication, including thoughtful discovery questions, professional email wording, and courteous handling of objections.
  • Ability to follow approved messaging, manage assigned follow-up tasks, and ask for guidance when a prospect's needs exceed available information.
  • A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet private workspace; availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Fully remote, desk-based work from home in Oregon, United States.
  • Structured onboarding and training using a CRM such as HubSpot, a Contact-center phone system such as RingCentral, and a Scheduling and calendar such as Microsoft Outlook.
  • Regular check-ins with the business development team lead for feedback, questions, and guidance on prospect conversations.
  • Build skills in prospect research, consultative selling, solution matching, and sales pipeline management through guided daily practice.
  • Health coverage, paid leave, a 401(k), bonus opportunities, and stipends.
