Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Business Development Manager with expertise in the alternative data and insights industry and a proactive hunter mentality. In this role, youll leverage your creative prospecting skills to strategically pursue new business across Corporate targets (B2C companies across the Fortune 5000) to drive our client acquisition goals. The position involves building a pipeline via outbound prospecting, developing new contact relationships, qualifying and closing business opportunities promptly, all while prioritizing and addressing the unique requirements of our clients.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead generation and prospecting: • Identify and source potential clients through various channels • Conduct market research to target industries and companies • Proactively initiate contact
  • Pipeline management: • Develop and manage a sales pipeline • Prioritize leads for successful partnerships • Maintain accurate CRM information
  • Client engagement and relationship building: • Establish relationships with key decision-makers • Conduct presentations to demonstrate value • Tailor offerings to client needs
  • Proposal development: • Collaborate with internal teams to create customized proposals • Articulate the benefits and pricing of data analytics solutions
  • Negotiation and closing: • Lead client negotiations • Work with legal teams for contract finalization • Close deals
  • Market intelligence: • Stay updated on industry trends • Competitor activities • Market insights to refine sales strategies
  • Collaboration with internal teams: • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and client success teams • Unified client acquisition and retention approach
  • Post-sales support: • Ensure a smooth handover to the client success team post-sale • Positive onboarding experience for clients
  • Documentation and reporting: • Maintain detailed records of client interactions • Provide regular sales activity and forecast reports

Requirements:

  • 6+ years experience in prospective sales with a track record of securing new logos and exceeding sales targets (a must)
  • Proficiency in the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure
  • Experience in Salesforce and Excel, along with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, is required
  • In-depth knowledge of alternative data solutions targeting B2C companies (Fortune 5000), including industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building and nurturing relationships with corporate clients, establishing trust and credibility with decision-makers
  • Effective negotiation skills for reaching beneficial agreements, with professional handling of objections and conflicts
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify client needs and tailor solutions, with creativity in overcoming sales challenges
  • High ethical standards and integrity in all dealings with clients and colleagues
  • Skilled in prospecting, passionate about understanding client needs, self-driven, and knowledgeable in SaaS and data-driven decision making

Salary:

The annual base salary for this role is between $125,000 - $150,000 based on experience, with commissions, company equity, 401(k) matching, work-from-home flexibility, and subsidized health benefits.
