As a Business Development Representative, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Establish and maintain contacts and relationships with key referral sources for home care including but not limited to: senior residential facilities, medical offices, long term care insurance, elder law attorneys, trust officers, financial planners, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehabs, and hospice agencies.
- Establish and maintain contacts and relationships with key individuals who are ordering sources and decision makers for staffing business, including but not limited to: hospitals, long term care and assisted living facilities, medical offices, correctional facilities, surgery centers, insurance companies, corporations utilizing health care staffing services, physicians, schools, and organizations facilitating wellness programs.
- Establish territory and key targeted sales plan with key referral sources that will result in effective market coverage and solid return on time invested.
- Establish and maintain prospect information on potential opportunities that exist through state/federal opportunities as well as group purchasing organization and hospital associations.
- Prepare and conduct presentations regarding Interim HealthCare to organizations where prospective clients might be reached or influenced.
- Implement account development strategies to sell to and secure growth in account market share with large complex organizations.
- Use contact management system to track and report on activity as well as monitor account development status and plan next steps; reviews reports and activity with Director or designee.
- Maintain knowledge of current regulations for home care, home health, and health care staffing.
- Meet with appropriate managers to monitor customer service levels and review identified target accounts.
A few must-haves for Business Development Representatives:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business (or related field) or equivalent training and work experience
- Minimum of 4 years of proven sales experience, preferably in healthcare services
- Demonstrated knowledge of home care services, referral sources and payors
- Understanding of state and federal home health standards and regulations
- Excellent communication skills, goal-driven mentality and ability to work independently
- Experience with medical staffing sales
- Understanding of home care services and compliance standards
- Relationship-building skills with government stakeholders
