    Description

    Mid-America is part of American Elevator Group (AEG), the largest independent elevator service company in North America, consisting of a collection of well-established elevator service companies operating throughout the United States. Backed by Arcline Investment Management, AEG has a significant footprint in the elevator industry and is rapidly growing. Due to growth, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to work out of the Indianapolis, Indiana area.

    Reporting to the Manager, Sales, the Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a vital role in driving the growth and expansion of the company by identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and increasing revenue streams. This position requires a proactive, results-oriented professional with excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. The BDM will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify and evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth areas.
    • Conduct thorough research to uncover new business opportunities and customer needs.
    • Generate leads through various channels such as cold calling, networking, industry events, and research.
    • Qualify and assess potential leads to determine their fit with the company's services.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and potential partners.
    • Cultivate and nurture partnerships that can contribute to business growth.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to create effective strategies for converting leads into customers.
    • Develop and execute sales plans to achieve or exceed targets.
    • Prepare and present compelling business proposals to clients and partners.
    • Customize proposals to address specific client needs and showcase the company's value proposition.
    • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with clients and partners.
    • Coordinate with marketing and technical teams to ensure seamless execution of business development strategies.
    • Provide input on product development and improvements based on customer feedback.
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development efforts.
    • Prepare regular reports to communicate progress and insights to senior management.
    • Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to stay updated on market trends and build a professional network.
    • Represent the company and promote its services to potential clients and partners.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and competitive trends.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Work Environment & Hazards:

    • Office environment with regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment.
    • Frequent site visits will be required, depending on customers' needs.
    • Exposure to construction or elevator shaft areas during site visits may contain potential hazards.

    Special Physical Demands:

    • Ability to travel frequently to meet with potential customers and generate a sales pipeline.
    • Occasional lifting up to fifteen (15) pounds at times.
    • Potential need for mobility in construction areas or elevator shafts during site visits.
