We fuse public records, IRS data, sanctions lists, web signals, and fraud telemetry from 2,200+ financial institutions into a single graph that resolves any business and the humans behind it in milliseconds. The legacy credit bureaus took 50 years to build something that gets 60% match rates. We've built something that gets 98% in under two years.

Today we're trusted by over 20% of financial institutions in America — including FIS, Rho, Socure and leading loan infrastructure providers. But the graph is becoming infrastructure for anyone who needs to know if a business is real and worth trusting: gig platforms, marketplaces, AI companies, and commerce infrastructure at scale.

ABOUT THE TEAM

AI agents are starting to transact: opening accounts, buying services, moving money on behalf of the businesses and people behind them. Every one of those transactions has a counterparty asking the question banks have always asked: who am I dealing with, and can I trust them? Today's identity infrastructure wasn't built to answer it at agent speed.

The Agentic Economy team is extending Baselayer's business graph into the trust layer for agentic commerce: verifiable credentials that bind an agent to the verified business and human behind it, a registry counterparties can query in real time, and verification APIs that plug into the networks, platforms, and protocols where agent transactions happen.

We run like a startup inside a startup: a small senior team led by our GM of Agentic Economy, working directly with payment networks, banks, wallet providers, and agent platforms. The category is being defined right now; the standards, seats, and infrastructure decisions of the next 18 months will be consequential for a decade.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Baselayer is growing fast and expanding into new products and segments, and we’re building the pipeline engine that fuels it. We’re hiring Business Development Representatives to be the tip of the spear: the first conversation prospects have with Baselayer and the engine that fills our sales pipeline. 

This is an early-career seat with an unusual amount of surface area. You'll work directly with our GM, and learn how identity infrastructure gets bought and sold. This is a high-ownership, high-velocity role with a clear path to Account Executive for top performers. We’re looking for someone hungry, coachable, and relentless who wants to learn world-class sales fundamentals at a company defining a category.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Research and prospect into target accounts across financial institutions, platforms, payment processors, AI agent builders, and merchant marketplaces
• Run high-quality outbound: researched, personalized sequences across email, LinkedIn, and phone
• Book qualified meetings and hand off well-researched opportunities to the GM and Account Executives
• Personalize outreach by understanding each prospect’s business, pain points, and use case
• Turn regulatory and industry moments into structured outbound campaigns with the AE and GM
• Hit and exceed activity and pipeline targets, treating your numbers as your scoreboard
• Keep CRM data clean and accurate, and track what’s working to continuously improve
• Learn the product, the market, and the buyer deeply, building the foundation for a sales career

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 1 years of professional experience; a track record of achievement in work, school, athletics, or elsewhere
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A self-starter mindset with strong work ethic and resilience
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage a high volume of outreach
• Coachable and eager to learn world-class sales fundamentals
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment

WHAT SETS YOU APART

• Prior SDR/BDR, sales, or customer-facing experience, ideally in SaaS or fintech
• Experience with outbound and prospecting tools (e.g. Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, Amplemarket, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Nooks) and CRM (HubSpot)
• A genuine interest in AI agents, fintech, payments, or risk
• Competitive drive and a track record of beating goals
• You want to build a career in sales and grow into an Account Executive role
• You’re hungry, proactive, and motivated to win

WORK LOCATION

• Based in SF; 4 days per week in office

COMPENSATION

• Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 + Equity
• On-Target Earnings: $110,000 - $150,000 (base + commission)
