We are looking for a Business Development & Sustainability Manager Americas to join our Petrochemicals team in Houston, TX.

As a Business Development & Sustainability Manager Americas, you will spearhead the development and execution of sustainable growth opportunities across BASF's Petrochemicals business in the Americas. Working at the intersection of sustainability, business development, customer engagement, and feedstock management, you will develop circular and low-carbon solutions that support customer goals, BASF's decarbonization ambitions, and profitable business growth.

As a Business Development & Sustainability Manager Americas, you create chemistry by...

• Developing and executing the sustainability strategy for BASF's Petrochemicals business in the Americas, combining sustainability expertise with a strong commercial mindset to align growth objectives with circular economy and decarbonization priorities.
• Driving the growth of Biomass Balance, ChemCycling, and other low-carbon solutions through market-focused portfolio development and customer engagement.
• Building strategic partnerships and collaborations that strengthen BASF's sustainability offering and support circular economy initiatives.
• Collaborating across business management, procurement, technology, operations, supply chain, advocacy, and global sustainability teams, to translate strategies into business impact.
• Monitoring sustainability trends, regulatory developments, emerging technologies, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities.
• Managing the development of the renewable, circular, and low-emission feedstock portfolio, including supplier negotiations, qualifications, and implementation activities.
• Contributing to selected global sustainability priorities as part of BASF's Petrochemicals Global Sustainability team.

If you...

• Hold a bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Sustainability, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Bring experience in business development, sustainability, petrochemicals, chemicals, feedstocks, procurement, strategic partnerships, or a related commercial function.
• Have a understanding of circular economy principles, renewable and recycled feedstocks, product carbon footprints, and decarbonization strategies.
• Can identify, evaluate, and develop new growth opportunities while balancing commercial priorities with sustainability objectives.
• Demonstrate strong customer engagement and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions across complex organizations.
• Are a strategic, entrepreneurial thinker with strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and project management capabilities.
