Business Intelligence Analyst

Description:

The Business Intelligence Analyst plays a critical role in transforming organizational data and customer deliverables into meaningful insights that guide strategic decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, mastery of data visualization, and collaboration across departments. The analyst will build dashboards, conduct data modeling, and support the organization with actionable intelligence. 

Although this position is based in Dallas, Texas, we have a hybrid work environment and support flexible and full-time remote team members. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship for an employment Visa at this time. This role will report to the Content & Enablement Leader.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize BI dashboards and reports. 
• Develop DevExpress (banded) Reports. 
• Partner with teams to translate business needs into data models. 
• Partner with customers to ensure they receive the analysis and reports needed for actionable insights. 
• Gather requirements and produce scoping documents to outline custom report needs. 
• Support key customers with customization of Power BI files on an as needed basis. 
• Conduct customer discovery calls to uncover analysis needs. 
• Work with partners, coordinating custom content when needed, collaborating on analytics and reporting options. 
• Analyze datasets to identify trends and opportunities. 
• Ensure data accuracy through validation and governance. 
• Collaborate with engineering for any additional views or scripts needed.  
• Keep data pipelines healthy. 
• Present findings through effective storytelling and visualization. 
• Complete peer reviews/pull requests within 2 business days. 
• Communicate with fellow team members via instant messaging, email, phone, and face-to-face meetings. 
• Manage tasks in Jira with integrations to DevOps, Git, and SharePoint. 
• Participate in weekly testing of DESTINI products. 

Qualifications 

• 2–4 years of BI or analytics experience. 
• Proficiency with tools such as Power BI or Tableau including DAX and calculated columns. 
• Strong SQL and data modeling expertise. 
• Some experience coding with C# 
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, Azure Workbooks, Git, SharePoint, and APIs. 
• Experience with DevExpress Report Designer or other banded reports technology like Crystal. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills. 
• Strong proficiency documenting the steps taken to arrive at a final deliverable. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
• Ability to work independently and within a team. 
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. 
• Ability to follow a process, follow standards, and deliver results on time. 
• Ability to give and receive peer review feedback and make modifications as necessary. 
• Ability to communicate insights to non-technical audiences. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with DESTINI software. 
• Experience working remotely.

• Customers can use reports with little friction and load time. 
• Customers feel heard and provide positive feedback via CSAT scores greater than 2.4  
• Peer reviews/pull requests are turned around within 2 business days – this means the ones you review as well as ensuring that your documentation is good enough for your reviewer to turn around your content within 2 business days. 
• AI is used thoughtfully to improve speed and coverage without sacrificing quality or becoming a crutch. 
• Tasks are managed with transparency and on schedule.

30-60-90 Day Goals  

• Within 30 days successfully complete DESTINI Estimator self-paced training and pass with an 80% score. 
• Within 30 days complete the tasks included in the Employee Onboarding plan. 
• Within 60 days be able to understand basic user functionality of DESTINI Cost Library including how to instruct a customer to apply Accounting Codes to line items. 
• Within 60 days be able to understand basic user functionality of DESTINI Estimator. 
• Within 60 days complete the tasks included in the Employee Onboarding plan. 
• Within 90 days produce a report to be used for import into an accounting software. 
• Within 90 days add one enhancement to a standard report. 
• Within 90 days produce a practice Power BI report using Power BI Desktop and DESTINI data. 
• Within 90 days complete your first peer review/pull request. 1 author and 1 review. 
• Within 90 days complete the tasks included in the Employee Onboarding plan including a demonstration of DESTINI products.
