BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER (STARLINK PLATFORM INTEGRITY)

We are looking for an experienced Business Operations Manager, known internally as Customer Integrity & Threat Detection Manager, to detect, disrupt, and investigate potential misuse of the service-including proactively combating and deterring illicit operators. This person must strike the careful balance of safeguarding customer information and privacy while applying enforcement measures and executing with an even-handed approach, avoiding overreach and disproportionate collateral impacts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proactively identify and assess platform integrity and abuse risks
• Design and develop solutions to priority risks. Own their deployment and effectiveness in concert with a wide range of stakeholders
• Represent the team in cross-functional groups and in appropriate areas of expertise
• Establish yourself as an expert in 2+ relevant investigative techniques, technologies or abuse prevention strategies
• Reactively investigate potential issues such as scams, fraud, and illicit goods and activities
• Conduct periodic reviews to support legal and compliance obligations
• Execute with consideration for customer privacy, targeting activities of indisputable harm and avoiding overreach

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of professional experience in global affairs, intelligence, or investigations; OR 8+ years of professional experience in global affairs, intelligence, or investigations in lieu of a degree
• 6+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS), and/or statistical software (e.g., R)
• 6+ years of experience investigating, mitigating, or dealing with illicit operators (e.g., fraud, abuse, cybersecurity, or other illicit activities)
• 3+ years owning and driving improvements in processes, technology, or other business areas to improve customer integrity or related capabilities

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience enabling others, influencing organizational decisions, and building consensus around solutions to challenging problems
• Strong analytical research and communication skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills
• International professional exposure (e.g., working abroad or on global initiatives/businesses)
• Experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or vulnerability assessment in high-stakes environments
• Experience with research and intelligence analytic techniques, including open-source intelligence (OSINT) data techniques
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment in a fast-paced, high-tech environment
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Familiarity with U.S. and international economic sanctions and export control laws and regulations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to travel as needed for business (15%)
• This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite-remote work not considered
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:

Level 3: $135,000.00 - $200,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
