Roles & Responsibilities
A Business Relationship Manager (BRM) acts as the strategic link between business units and IT/service delivery teams, ensuring that technology, services, and resources are aligned with business objectives. Key Roles & Responsibilities of a Business Relationship Manager
Develop and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and stakeholders. Understand business goals, challenges, and priorities. Align IT initiatives and services with business strategies. Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.
Serve as the primary point of contact between business and technology teams. Manage stakeholder expectations and communication. Facilitate regular governance and review meetings. Resolve conflicts and drive consensus among stakeholders.
Capture, analyze, and prioritize business requirements. Evaluate new business opportunities and requests. Maintain a pipeline of initiatives and projects. Ensure demand aligns with organizational capacity and budget.
Monitor service delivery performance against SLAs and KPIs. Review service quality and customer satisfaction levels. Identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions. Ensure business expectations are met consistently.
Define and track business benefits of projects and services. Measure ROI and value delivered by IT investments. Recommend optimization opportunities to improve efficiency. Ensure solutions contribute to strategic objectives.
Collaborate with PMOs, project managers, and delivery teams. Support business case development and project prioritization. Facilitate organizational change management activities. Ensure smooth adoption of new solutions and processes.
Identify and manage business risks related to services and projects. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards. Participate in governance boards and steering committees. Escalate critical issues and drive risk mitigation plans.
Assist in budget planning and forecasting. Monitor service costs and resource utilization. Support chargeback/showback models where applicable. Optimize technology investments for maximum business benefit.
Gather feedback from business stakeholders. Identify process improvement opportunities. Promote innovation and digital transformation initiatives. Drive continuous service and operational enhancements.
