    Description

    Job Title: Business Systems Analyst (Capital Markets & SQL)
    Location: Boston, MA

    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a strong background in Capital Markets and SQL to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams. The ideal candidate will gather and analyze business requirements, create functional specifications, perform data analysis using SQL, and support the delivery of technology solutions for trading, settlements, securities processing, and regulatory reporting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with business users, product owners, and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
    • Translate business needs into detailed Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), and user stories.
    • Perform data analysis and validation using SQL to support business processes, testing, and production support.
    • Analyze trade lifecycle processes including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
    • Work closely with development and QA teams throughout the SDLC to ensure successful solution delivery.
    • Conduct impact analysis for system enhancements and production changes.
    • Create process flows, workflow diagrams, and functional specifications.
    • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and production releases.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and identify root causes.
    • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
    • Prepare project documentation, release notes, and business process documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements in financial systems.

    Required Skills

    • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst.
    • Strong experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Financial Services.
    • Advanced SQL skills, including:
      • Complex joins
      • Stored procedures
      • Views
      • Common Table Expressions (CTEs)
      • Aggregate and analytical functions
      • Data validation and reconciliation
    • Experience with requirements gathering and stakeholder management.
    • Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
    • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office tools.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
