Job Summary

Bussers, also known as restaurant bussers, clean, clear, and lay tables in restaurants and diners. They provide support to restaurant staff by managing restaurant supplies such as napkins, straws, crockery, and cutlery, and ensure that the restaurant and supplies are clean and organized.

Responsibilities
 

  • Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery, and napkins from tables after diners are done eating
  • Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables, and floors when needed
  • Assisting with the cleaning and processing of dirty dishes and silverware.
  • Keeping the restrooms clean

Qualifications


  • Must be 16 years old and meet any other state age or labor requirements.
  • No one under the age of 18 may operate, clean, adjust or touch a slicer a mixer.

  • Must be able to follow directions, work in a fast – paced, high pressure customer responsive environment.

Nature and Scope of Position

Demonstrates a passion to serve by being attentive to guest needs at all times. Ensure tables are clean, set, and ready at all times.

Essential Functions


  • Exhibit integrity in all actions by meeting company standards in appearance, grooming, security, and sanitation. Always shows up in a clear apron, pressed shirt, clean pants, non-slip shoes and name tag. 
  • Demonstrates respect for each individual by communicating courteously and respectfully with management team, co-workers, and guest even during peak hours. 
  • Check the restrooms at least every hour to ensure they are cleaned and stocked. 
  • Complete opening and/or closing duties. 
  • Maintain building exterior by cleaning sidewalks, landscaping, and parking lots. 
  • Maintain a safe work area by cleaning up dining room and service aisle spills. 
  • Enthusiastically acknowledge guests with the company’s five-foot rule. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
