Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a
Buyer with our power technology client in Columbus, IN. This is a 6-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay:$45.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Schedule: 8 hours/day, Monday-Friday | Typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible) | Hybrid
Description:- Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment.
- Responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
- Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
- Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
Education/Experience:- Bachelors degree in finance or a related business field required
- 10+ years finance related experience required
- CPSM/CPPM/CPP (Certified Professional Supply Management; Certified Professional Purchasing Management; Certified Purchasing Professional)
Responsibility level:- Exercises independent judgment with little to no direction from supervisor
Skills:- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills (Required)
- Expert ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical data (Required)
- Expert ability to accurately document and record customer/client information (Required)
- Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
- Expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing (Required)o Expert knowledge of supply chain management (Typically required)
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)

- Experience is more important than the exact number of years
Ideal Candidate:- Someone with a technical or engineering background who has supported product development, worked closely with suppliers, negotiated commercial agreements, managed project risks, and collaborated across multiple teams to bring new products to market.
