JOB SUMMARY: Under minimum supervision, is responsible for purchasing materials for production and plant support.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Procure materials and commodity products of medium to high complexity and value for government and commercial programs.
• Negotiate with suppliers, evaluate bids, and select suppliers based on price, delivery, quality and program management.
• Resolve problems and make recommendations. Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality and program management
• Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledgeable in procurement and supply chain and surface mount technology
• Excellent communication and written skills are necessary
• Negotiation and follow up skills required

PREFERRED

• Purchasing experience in complex electronic components with the ability to read and understand technical documentation is preferred, but not a requirement for consideration.
• Experience with quoting and ordering raw printed circuit boards and/or fabricated parts a plus.
