Job Description

The Buyer will research and purchase supplies, equipment, and services required to support the delivery of healthcare services to patients.

Responsibilities and Duties of Buyer:

Oversees, monitors and maintains current inventory and stock levels across locations to help prevent shortages or excess inventory.

Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future demand and buying trends to avoid stock outs while minimizing excess inventory to control costs.

Collaborates with colleagues across different departments to meet the needs of internal end-users, patients, and caregivers

Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.

Supports contract negotiation with wholesalers and suppliers.

Facilitates the purchase of equipment and supplies.

Assesses financial risks of purchases and proactively engages with management and/or third-party vendors to identify potential alternatives that help manage costs.

Maintains accurate records and documentation to maintain transparency and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Supports data and analytics needs associated with identifying trends, maintaining KPIs, and strengthening individual, department, and organizational performance.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
