Varstaff is looking for an Indirect Buyer III
As an Indirect Buyer, you will manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for indirect categories, focusing on standard Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, Engineering Technology/Information Technology (ET/IT) hardware, and aerospace-related materials or services. You will partner with internal engineering and IT teams, evaluate and select vendors, navigate specialized aerospace compliance standards, and execute cost-saving negotiations in a fast-paced environment.
Execute the full procurement lifecycle for indirect goods, including processing purchase requisitions, converting them into purchase orders, and issuing RFQs/RFPs.
Procure standard COTS products and manage distributor/manufacturer relationships to identify standardization opportunities.
Purchase ET/IT hardware (computing equipment, networking components, test equipment) and coordinate technical specifications with stakeholders.
Support aerospace-related procurement by navigating specialized quality certifications, traceability, and compliance standards.
Develop supplier relationships, negotiate favorable pricing and terms, and resolve delivery or invoice discrepancies.
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal company policies, contractual terms, and audit requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, preferably in an indirect buying capacity (Candidates with 3–4 years of experience may be considered for a Level II role).
Demonstrated hands-on experience procuring COTS products and IT/technology hardware.
Strong negotiation and strategic supplier management skills.
Proficiency with major ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) to process requisitions and track procurement workflows.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and procurement compliance requirements.
Professional supply chain certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM, or equivalent).
Experience with strategic sourcing and category management.
