They are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join their growing team in New Columbia, PA. This position plays a vital role in sourcing, negotiating, and ensuring timely procurement of mechanical and electrical components for manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and select reliable suppliers to purchase quality goods and services that meet production and customer commitments.
- Initiate purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and special tools, ensuring timely execution by coordinating closely with manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Expedite orders to accommodate changing production demands and maintain consistent supply chain operations.
- Analyze and secure quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and recommend suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.
- Stay updated on market prices, trends, and engineering developments that affect procurement decisions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues, and maintain strong relationships with vendors to support production goals.
- Visit supplier facilities to assess their qualifications and assist in resolving production, design, quality, or delivery concerns.
- Prepare and maintain market data, including pricing trends and delivery performance, to ensure continuous improvement of sourcing strategies.
- Conduct complex bid analyses and continuously search for new suppliers and products to enhance company operations.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school, or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Minimum of two years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on mechanical and electrical components.
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to analyze costs, market trends, and supplier performance.
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (such as AS400), and basic knowledge of MS Office (including Excel and pivot tables).
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, proportions, and percentages, and apply these concepts to procurement tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Willingness to travel as required to meet with suppliers or attend trade shows.
- Relevant certifications (such as APICS, C.P.M., CPSM) are preferred but not required.
