Buyer

Our client, an advanced clean energy manufacturing organization, is seeking a Buyer to join their team. As a Buyer, you will be part of the Material Planning & Purchasing team supporting day-to-day procurement activities that keep production moving. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset—skills that will align successfully in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay Rate: $45-$50/hour (Based on Experience)
Location: Newark, DE
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Fully On-Site (5 Days/Week) M-F 8am-5pm

What's the Job?

• Manage daily purchasing activities for raw materials to support production schedules and time-to-power goals.
• Review and validate MRP requirements to ensure demand accuracy and appropriate purchase order placement.
• Analyze material demand, supply signals, and inventory levels to identify potential shortages and supply risks early.
• Develop and execute mitigation plans for material shortages in collaboration with commodity managers and material planning teams.
• Expedite supplier deliveries and follow up on open orders to prevent production disruptions and maintain supply continuity.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of buyer or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems, procurement processes, and supply planning.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and maintaining accurate purchasing data.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
