BUYER-QRC

Acquires and purchases materials for specific commodities. Obtains quotations, negotiates prices, deliveries, and discounts and makes recommendations on vendor's quotes and services to determine if they are compatible with company objectives. Accurately maintains purchasing information in ERP operating system to ensure delivery performance. Monitors quality of goods and delivery and communicates quality and delivery issues to supervisor. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 or 4-year degree in business/engineering or equivalent industry experience
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Understanding of computerized Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Knowledge of factors relating to commodities purchased.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in purchasing commodities from international suppliers.
• Basic blueprint and engineering specification understanding

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Office environment with frequent shop interaction.
