The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and consumables used in our manufacturing process. This role requires strong attention to detail, vendor management skills, and the ability to balance cost efficiency with product quality and delivery timelines.
Job Duties:
Source and purchase raw materials, components, and consumables for production and inventory.
Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and ensure reliable supply.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to align purchasing decisions with production needs and specifications.
Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
Manage purchase orders, confirmations, and delivery tracking to ensure timely fulfillment.
Support supplier audits, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify and qualify alternate suppliers as needed.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation within the ERP/MRP system.
Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a finance related field (or equivalent experience).
1+ years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a medical device, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.).
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA regulatory requirements is a plus.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
