Injection Molding Setup Specialist (Thermoplastics)

Shift: 1st Shift | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour

A day in the life

At 7:30 AM, you’re on the floor in Berea, reviewing the first job ticket of the day. You select the correct mold, stage materials, and complete your setup. As the machines come up to temperature, you dial in parameters to hit spec quickly. Throughout the shift you rotate between presses, watching cycle times, adjusting processes to keep quality tight, and clearing any issues before they become downtime. Finished parts are checked against requirements, scrap is kept in check, and your area stays organized and safe. Before closing out the day, you communicate any equipment or production notes to the team so the next run starts strong.

Core responsibilities

• Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines for scheduled production runs
• Perform mold changes and complete machine setups efficiently
• Monitor machines during production to maintain efficient operation
• Troubleshoot molding, machine, and process issues to restore stability
• Make process adjustments to consistently maintain product quality
• Inspect finished parts, verify specifications, and identify defects
• Prepare and manage materials used throughout the molding process
• Track production output; minimize downtime and reduce scrap
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures without exception
• Communicate equipment or production concerns to the appropriate team members

What you bring

• Previous plastic injection molding setup/operator experience (required)
• Hands-on experience with mold changes and full machine setups
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to recognize and correct common injection molding issues
• Working knowledge of manufacturing quality standards
• Comfort working independently to keep production running efficiently
• Dependability and keen attention to detail
