Cabling Technician

Great opportunity for a person with experience installing Category 5e and 6 phone/data cabling, access control and surveillance. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to handle yourself well under pressure.<\/span>

Major duties/functions:<\/span><\/b>

<\/p>

Phone and computer cabling installer<\/span>

<\/div>

<\/p>

• Installation of Category 5e/6 low voltage cabling<\/span>

<\/div>

• Installation of fiber cabling and terminations<\/span>

<\/p>

• Installation of access control and/or surveillance systems<\/span>

<\/p>

• Knowledge of tools for installation of above technologies in including repair and testing equipment such as Fluke<\/span>

<\/p>

• Knowledge/training of OSHA safety requirements for above technologies<\/span>

<\/p>

Requirements<\/h3>

<\/p>

• 1-2 years of installing low voltage Cat 5e/6 cabling and terminations, familiarity or proficiency with installing fiber<\/span>

<\/div>

• 1-2 years of experience working with access control and/or surveillance a plus, but not required<\/span>

<\/p>

• Proficient with Office applications such as email, Word, Excel, etc.<\/span>

<\/p>

• Proficient with use of service management applications like ConnectWise or Autotask<\/span>

<\/p>

• Proficient with written and verbal communications skills<\/span>

<\/p>

• Reliable transportation, Florida driver's license with clean record<\/span>

<\/p>

• Excellent customer service skills<\/span>

<\/p>

• Current or past enrollment in technical school or program a plus<\/span>

<\/p>

• Proficient at problem solving<\/span>

<\/p>

• Ability to handle high-stress situations and multiple tasks/projects<\/span>

<\/p>

• Must be 18 years of age<\/span>

<\/p>

• Fluent written/spoken English, Spanish a plus<\/span>

<\/p>

• Tools - Must have some of the basic tools required for this line of work<\/span>

<\/p>

• Safety - must have knowledge and/or training of OSHA and other safety requirements<\/span>

<\/p>

• Clothing - must have appropriate clothing for job-site work<\/span>

<\/p>

• Testing - experience working with Fluke Versa testers or Greenlee Fusion splicers a plus<\/span>

Education:<\/span><\/b>

• High school education required.<\/span>

<\/div>

• Desired: Technical training, BICSI or other certifications a plus<\/span>

<\/p>
