Key responsibilities:
Generate 3D CAD models, detailed and assembly drawings of new and existing design concepts using SolidWorks.
Work closely with the engineering and product development teams to translate concepts and ideas into precise technical drawings.
Perform dimensioning and tolerance analysis/evaluations of component and assembly drawings.
Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including parts lists, prototype assemblies, prototype build instructions, presentations (pictures and/or video) and patent drawings.
Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards and manufacturing capabilities.
What we are looking for:
Associate degree or certification in Mechanical design/drafting required.
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in CAD drafting, a plus on medical device environment.
Certified and proficiency in SolidWorks 2016 or latest versions is essential.
Strong background in catheter design and exposure to various manufacturing injection molding techniques is a plus.
Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in CAD work.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work on multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
Demonstrated capability using engineering measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Knowledge in variety of machining/manufacturing process and designing for manufacturability (i.e. plastic molding, extrusions, CNC machining, Laser machining, Laser welding).
Knowledge of Medical device Document Control preferred.
