Cafe Steward (Dishwasher & Cafe Support)

Hedge Coffee has been in the specialty coffee catering business since 2015 and last year we opened our brick-and-mortar location, a roastery and cafe in the Mission District of San Francisco. We bring pop-up specialty coffee bars to events across the Bay Area, from office gatherings and seaside weddings to large conferences.

In order to support our team and customers at the cafe we are hiring a Cafe Steward to join us Friday 9am-5pm, and Weekends 10am 6pm, with the potential to grow into additional shifts. This role keeps the cafe running smoothly by managing the dish flow, maintaining a spotless space, and supporting the team behind the bar.

• Dish & bussing rotation clear used glassware, mugs, and plates from tables; wash and dry everything through the dishwasher cycle; restock clean items back at the coffee bar so the team always has what they need
  
• Cafe cleanliness wipe down surfaces and windows, mop up spills as they happen, keep the bathroom clean and stocked, and generally own the tidiness of the whole space so the rest of the team can focus on serving our customers
  
• Restocking & closing help keep inventory organized and stocked throughout the day, and at close make sure the cafe is reset and ready for the next morning
  

• You have some hospitality experience (cafe, restaurant, bar, or similar) and understand the rhythm of a busy service
  
• You take pride in a clean, organized space and notice the things that need doing without being asked
  
• You're reliable, self-directed, and not afraid to get your hands dirty
  
• You're comfortable working around guests
  

• Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays (10am 6pm), Fridays (9am-5pm)
  
• Pay: $25/hr
