REPORTS TO: Food Service Supervisor
WORK YEAR: Board-adopted school year calendar
SALARY RANGE: Appropriate step on Board-approved salary schedule
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff and other guests
- Sense of urgency and ability to work at a fast pace
- Ability to accurately complete duties in an organized and efficient manner
- Ability to tolerate standing at workstations and walking between various work areas
- Capacity to perform physically demanding work, including lifting bulk items averaging 45 pounds
- Experience with cashiering (preferred)
- Flexibility in reacting to menu and duty fluctuations
- Proof of meeting all mandated health requirements (e.g.: negative tuberculosis test, infectious disease health code policy, etc.)
- Documented evidence of a clear criminal record
- Ability to accept personal responsibility for decisions and conduct
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Prepare and serve variety of foods to students, staff and special event groups
- Clean and maintain good condition of kitchen workstations and service areas
- Perform dishwashing and general kitchen sanitation tasks
- Record food usage and accurately complete production paperwork
- Complete tasks in various settings, including walk-in coolers and freezers
- Operate fast-paced POS cash register
- Provide friendly service and ensure a positive student dining environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor
- Work under the guidelines of Penta's Mission Statement and goals
- Complete annual training and attend periodic professional development events
- Remain free of any non-prescribed controlled substances and alcohol abuse in the workplace throughout duration of employment with the district
- Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent, Career Technical Director, Assistant Director, Supervisor, or their designee(s)
