CAM Toolpath Engineer (Mastercam) – AS9100 Precision Manufacturing

What You’ll Tackle

• Translate drawings, specs, travelers, and GD&T into production-ready Mastercam programs.
• Post to appropriate controls, keep revisions organized, and support seamless handoff to the floor.
• Set up/prove out programs; optimize feeds, speeds, and strategies to hit cycle-time targets.
• Account for downstream processes (plating/finishes) in your dimensional strategy.
• Use precision metrology to verify conformance and resolve nonconformances at the root cause.
• Execute robust simulation and verification to prevent collisions and exceed travel limits safely.
• Document everything: setup sheets, tool lists, fixturing, parameters, and revision control.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production on first-piece, in-process, final, and AS9100 FAI inspections.
• Continuously improve: setup reduction, scrap reduction, first-pass yield, machine utilization.

Who You Are

• Fluent in blueprint reading and GD&T; strong shop math and mechanical sense.
• Advanced knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, workholding, and feeds/speeds.
• Mastercam expert with working G/M-code knowledge.
• Confident with precision gauges and inspection methods.
• Self-directed troubleshooter with an eye for process control and repeatability.
• Clear communicator who collaborates well across Production, Engineering, Quality, and management.
• Meets applicable U.S. person requirements for controlled work and customer contracts.
• Comfortable programming from 2D drawings and 3D solid models/STEP files.
• Understands CAM simulation, collision avoidance, and machine travel limitations.
• Skilled at creating complete setup documentation and tooling/fixture strategies.

Background We’re Looking For

• High school diploma/equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 5+ years CNC programming in precision manufacturing; aerospace/defense preferred.
• Mastercam programming experience required.
• Strong CNC mill experience required; CNC lathe and Wire EDM exposure preferred.
• AS9100 or similarly regulated environment experience preferred.

Tools & Tech Environment

• Haas CNC Mills (3-/4-axis VMCs) and EC-400 HMC; Haas CNC Lathes
• Mastercam CAD/CAM; precision inspection equipment
• Wire EDM equipment (as applicable)

Where & How You’ll Work

• Location: St. Petersburg, Florida
• Reports to: Machine Shop Supervisor
• Schedule: Flexible; extended hours as needed
• Supervisory duties: None

Physical & Environmental Snapshot

• Lift/move up to 50 lbs occasionally; extended standing, walking, reaching.
• Visual, hearing, and coordination ability to work safely around machinery.
• Precision machine-shop setting with moving equipment, fluids, fumes, particles; moderate noise; PPE required.
