Campus Safety Student Worker

The Campus Safety Department is seeking alert, dependable students who are interested in helping maintain a safe campus environment. This position is a great opportunity for students interested in law, public safety, corrections, criminal justice, or related fields. Your schedule will be set and you will have consistent shifts/ hours.

This position offers higher-than-average student pay.

Hours:

Evening, overnight, and weekend shifts are available based on departmental needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Campus Safety staff with monitoring campus and reporting safety concerns.
• Unlock and lock campus buildings as assigned.
• Monitor and enforce campus parking policies.
• Answer phones and assist with general Campus Safety needs.
• Serve as an extra set of eyes and ears for the Campus Safety Department.
• Communicate concerns or unusual activity to Campus Safety staff.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Able to remain attentive during assigned shifts.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and respond appropriately to situations.
• Dependable and able to work independently.

Qualifications:

• Willingness to work evening, overnight, and weekend shifts, including shifts between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
• Interest in public safety, law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field is helpful but not required.
• No prior experience required; training is provided.
