An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse at a 323-bed acute care hospital in Ocala, Florida. This ACS Level I Trauma Center is also the region's only Comprehensive Stroke Center, providing advanced, specialized care to critically ill patients. This role is ideal for a compassionate critical care nurse who enjoys working in a collaborative environment while caring for patients with complex cardiovascular and critical care needs.

The Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse provides direct bedside care to high-acuity patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation, multiple vasoactive medications, and other specialized therapies. This position serves as a strong advocate for patients and their families by ensuring compassionate care, maintaining privacy and confidentiality, and providing clear education about medications and treatment plans. Working closely with the interdisciplinary care team, the nurse plays an important role in delivering exceptional outcomes while supporting ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular ICU patients.

  • Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition.

  • Care for patients receiving mechanical ventilation, vasoactive medications, and other advanced therapies.

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

  • Educate patients and family members about diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans.

  • Advocate for patient safety, privacy, and quality care throughout the hospital stay.

  • Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote the best possible patient outcomes.

  • Support departmental quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Registered Nurse license or approved multistate compact RN license required. Candidates relocating with a compact license must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days.

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Minimum of one year of recent acute care ICU nursing experience within the past two to three years required.

  • Candidates with two or more years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience will also be considered.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.

  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.

Schedule:
