    Inova Fair Fax Hospital - Oakville is looking for a dedicated Specialty Sonographer 3 to join the team. This role is a Varied Shift+Schedule: PRN (as needed)

    Specialty Sonographer 3 Job Responsibilities

    • The Specialty Sonographer 3 serves as a clinical expert who provides high‑level specialty ultrasound services, leads quality and performance‑improvement initiatives, and supports departmental operations. This role exercises independent judgment, mentors staff, and acts as a key resource for complex imaging and workflow needs.
    • Identifies and manages clinical or emergent problems that may impact exam outcomes, ensuring patient safety and optimal diagnostic quality.
    • Manages high‑level disinfection processes, including maintaining glutaraldehyde or hydrogen peroxide systems and associated logs.
    • Ensures proper cleaning, maintenance, and safe operation of all ultrasound equipment; coordinates repairs, replacements, and inventory needs with Biomedical Engineering, IT, and vendors.
    • Leads performance‑improvement initiatives, quality‑assurance activities, and compliance‑related documentation.
    • Participated in some healthcare related community engagement event.
    • May perform additional duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting. Sonography or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare.

    • Certification:

    • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer (RCS)

    • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start.

    • Experience: 4 years or more of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography
