In this role, the Material Handler performs shop order-picking away activities associated with an assigned warehouse area.
Utilizes the ERP system (BPCS/LX) to perform inventory transactions and inquiries, including the use of mobile barcode devices
Optimizes storage locations based on part velocity and volume policies.
Acts as backup for multiple areas when required
Operates mobile equipment, such as forklifts, man-lifts, pallet jacks, to move material
Assures that material counts are accurately reflected in the system and that material is stored according to defined policies and procedures
Operates material handling equipment (forklift, order pickers, pallet jacks)
Able to identify part types and methods of storage associated with assigned area
Performs put-away and picking functions utilizing BPCS barcode devices
Maintains accurate stock counts, locations, and product IDs in assigned areas
Rearrange material as directed for optimization
Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required
Follows all safety rules and practices.
May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Order picking & staging (30 transactions per day avg.)
Inventory optimization activities
Conducting inventory accuracy audits & adjustments.
Use of mobile devices to perform inventory transactions
Performing inventory problem troubleshooting and correction
Minimum six months' forklift operating experience
Minimum six months' experience working in a team environment
Minimum six months' data entry experience
Experience in warehousing activities requiring a high level of precision and productivity
