Duties
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to support health assessments.
Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques to promote safety and well-being.
Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining a clean and safe environment through light cleaning duties.
Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to foster social interaction and emotional health.
Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures and emergency response plans to ensure a secure environment for residents and staff alike.
Skills
Proven experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or personal care homes.
Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care strategies, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.
Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation purposes.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
Capable of performing physical tasks including lifting with Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility needs safely.
Valid driver’s license preferred for community outings or transportation needs; driving experience is a plus.
Demonstrated ability in behavior management, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and home & community care practices.
