This job description is not all inclusive but is intended to give you an overview of this role.DescriptionThe GBS Carrier Operations Specialist is responsible for the internal execution and coordination of all carrier-related processes including licensing & commissions, materials library, and employee training and access. This individual supports the ongoing success of GBS carrier partnerships by ensuring accurate, timely, and accessible information across the organization.This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be highly organized and detail-oriented, and demonstrate strong customer service and collaboration skills. This role partners closely with internal teams and supports senior leadership in maintaining strong carrier relationships.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain broker and agency appointments with all carriersManage broker and agency licensing across all states as needed, including coordinating ExamFX access and supporting employee licensingRegularly audit GBS employee access to carrier portals and manage access updatesMaintain a comprehensive and organized library of all carrier information for internal useCommunicate carrier rules, guidelines, and updates to appropriate internal departments (quoting, enrollment, eligibility, COBRA, implementations, etc.)Support Sales and Operations teams with accurate carrier information and documentationConduct research on new carriers and gather required information for onboarding and partnership setupResearch state-specific insurance rules and regulations to support expansion effortsPrepare materials and internal summaries to support carrier discussions led by senior team membersScope & Role ClarificationThis role does not independently own strategic carrier relationshipsExternal carrier communications may be supported but are guided by senior leadershipHigh-level negotiations and escalations are handled by the Carrier Relationship Manager/LeadRequired QualificationsMust have a Utah Life, Accident & Health license (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred2-5 years' experience in employee benefits or related field preferredPreferred QualificationsTechnically savvy and proficient in Windows 11 and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Performance ExpectationsAbility to consistently attend work, meetings and required training or staff eventsMust work with respect and collaborate effectively across teamsMust meet or exceed team and overall company expectationsWorking Conditions / Essential FunctionsThis position enjoys the benefits and climate control of a quiet office environment. Employees are provided with ergonomically sound workspaces. Work is accomplished at a computer terminal either sitting or standing. Employees must access, input and retrieve information from the computer system.
