Compensation:
$28-$31 depending on experience
OVERVIEW:
The Salvation Army is seeking applicants for a full-time case manager. This position is part of the Joseph McFee Center (JMC), a recovery focused transitional housing program for San Franciscans exiting residential treatment. The JMC program provides participants with the opportunity to build on progress made in early recovery and to work toward a healthy, independent and prosperous life. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Case Manager's main goal is to address the needs of JMC participants and cultivate a transformative community based on the programs principles of recovery, accountability, and service. The case manager is responsible for assessing client needs, developing goal plans, providing referral and resource coordination services, client advocacy, crisis intervention, monitoring and evaluating client progress, documenting, and reporting client interactions and services, collaborating with staff and partner organizations, empowering and educating clients and adhering to professional ethics while maintaining client confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
High school diploma. (College course work in social services or psychology preferred).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to express empathy and foster a collaborative alliance with clients.
Familiarity with San Francisco social services, government resources, community resources, healthcare services, mental health support and housing services.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with little direct supervision.
Culturally competent and able to work with a highly diverse population.
Excellent time management skills.
Desired:
Valid CA Driver License and completion of organization's driver safety training within introductory period.
Experience and ability working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and other potential barriers to self-sufficiency.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma informed environment.
Strong electronic communication skills. e.g., Outlook
Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
