Cashier

Job Description: The Cashier plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring accurate transactions and proper load measurement. This role combines front counter responsibilities with active yard duties, requiring both customer interaction and hands-on operational work. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to all customers
• Guide customers through the dumping / check-in process
• Resolve basic customer questions and escalate issues when necessary
• Measure incoming trailers / trucks to determine cubic yardage
• Ensure accurate material assessment for proper charging 
• Move between yard and front counter as needed 
• Maintain awareness of yard activity and customer flow
• Accurately process customer transactions (card, cash, etc.), ensuring all charges reflect correct measurements and pricing
• Maintain attention to detail to prevent revenue loss
• Perform end-of-day cash drawer reconciliation
• Balance transactions and report discrepancies
• Follow company procedures for cash handling and accountability

Qualifications we consider: 

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (measurement, volume, pricing)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Previous Cashier or retail experience is preferred
• Comfortable standing, waling, and being active throughout the shift
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
