Our client is looking to hire on a Casting Welder! Our client is an American Cast Iron Foundry carrying a long history of producing high-quality gray and ductile iron castings. They boast only a 2.5% turnover rate.
The Casting Welder will be responsible for repairing castings using various welding processes, including filling, blending, and joining, to meet quality and safety standards.
Basic Responsibilities: - Receive castings and position them on a table or floor based on size. - Attach grounding cables to castings prior to welding. - Grind material around defects to ensure proper welding angle and travel. - Identify and repair holes and cracks using appropriate welding techniques. - Perform filling, blending, and joining welds on castings. - Grind, finish, and inspect repaired castings. - Safely transport castings using hoists, cranes, or forklifts as needed. - Follow all safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications: - Previous welding experience, preferably with castings. - Iron welding is a huge plus. - Knowledge of/experience with MIG, and TIG welding. - Gas welding experience is a huge plus. - Ability to grind personal welds. - Ability to safely operate grinders, cranes, and hoists. - Strong attention to detail and quality. - Commitment to workplace safety.
