In this position, you will perform duties as a Central Service Technician Tech II (CSTII), supporting the distribution and management of medical supplies and equipment throughout the UCLA Health System. This role directly supports patient care operations by ensuring that clinical teams have timely access to the supplies and equipment required. Work assignments are prioritized and carried out in alignment with departmental goals, operational needs, and the demands of high-volume procedural areas.
The Central Service Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate and efficient inventory management across assigned locations. Core responsibilities include placing supply orders to replenish inventory levels, monitoring supply utilization trends, and evaluating inventory turns to proactively adjust par levels to meet fluctuating clinical demand. The CSTII plays a key role in maintaining efficient par management processes to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained while minimizing supply shortages or overstock conditions.
Additional responsibilities include receiving, verifying, and distributing incoming supplies and equipment throughout the health system. This includes reconciling packing slips with delivered contents, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring accurate documentation of received goods. The technician is responsible for transporting supplies-frequently weighing up to 50 pounds-to designated storage and procedural areas in a safe and timely manner.
This position requires working in fast-paced, high-demand procedural environments where efficiency, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are essential. The CSTII must prioritize tasks effectively to support time-sensitive workflows. Responsibilities also include restocking supply areas, maintaining organized storage locations, managing assigned module supply carts, ensuring barcode labels are properly maintained to support scanning and inventory accuracy, and following up on vendor direct shipments to ensure timely delivery and availability of critical supplies.
The Central Service Technician Tech II collaborates closely with clinical staff, supply chain personnel, and vendors to maintain supply readiness across multiple procedural areas. Success in this role requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic healthcare environment, and a strong commitment to supporting uninterrupted patient care operations.
