The Central Sterilization Supervisor is responsible for directing, planning, organizing, and evaluating the staff and daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and professional standards while coordinating the day to day reprocessing of surgical instruments and trays to support safe and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support sterile processing staff, including scheduling, training, and performance oversight
Coordinate daily operations related to decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and trays
Ensure compliance with Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN standards, as well as internal policies and procedures
Monitor quality assurance processes and address issues related to workflow, safety, or compliance
Collaborate with perioperative and clinical teams to ensure instrument availability and operational efficiency
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience
Minimum of 1 year of management or supervisory experience
