Part Time$40.45 - $42.91 per hourPosted 6/24/2026Reports to: Executive Director of Special Services Location: To Be DeterminedBargaining Unit: Non-Represented FLSA Status: ExemptJob Summary:Assesses the health needs of students; developing emergency care plans and individual health plan, incorporating input from parent and physician, complying with law relating to student health, including parent/guardian consent; providing and overseeing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and injured students. Provides health information, and serves as a resource to teachers, staff, and administrators. Provides training to district staff and participates as a member of school teams to assist in addressing whole child needs, health and safety concerns, crisis intervention, and disaster planning.Required Qualifications:• Possession of a valid Washington State License as a Registered Nurse (RN).• Current CPR/First Aid Training and ability to administer First Aid and/or CPR to students and staff• Knowledge of all health care related policies and procedures, i.e. OSHA, Blood Borne Pathogen Knowledge of attendant laws and policies for dispensing and control of medications and treatments• Assess the health of children (e.g. student safety, abuse, health related issues, etc.) for the purpose of identifying problems, referring for proper treatment, and complying with legal requirements.• Participate in site assessments (e.g. health and safety, building accessibility, emergency preparedness, etc.) for the purpose of providing recommendations for improving safety and accessibility.• Ability to care for students with Diabetes, life threatening conditions or special needs• Lead meetings and workshops/trainings for the purpose of conveying and receiving information, assessing student health status, serving as an advocate for students, making recommendations to IEP teams, serving or leading 504 teams.• Ability to communicate effectively, possess awareness (for self and others), listen actively, be patient, incorporate humor/lightheartedness into work, be empathic, possess a growth mindset, and be customer-service oriented• Ability to support the District's accommodationsPreferred Qualifications:• Bachelors in School Nursing (BSN), Educational Staff Associate (ESA)• Experience working in the school setting• Experience working with school aged children• Additional training in pediatrics• Ability to speak Spanish• Experience working with students from diverse backgroundsEssential Functions:• Perform, administer, and provide nursing care appropriate for an RN to include but not limited to the following:o Triage- assess illnesses and injurieso Provide non-oral medications (i.e., injections, eye/ear medications)o Mixing medications, blood glucose monitoring, nasogastric and J-tube feedingso Suctioning and tracheotomy careo Feeding and medication by G-tubeo Performing clean intermittent catheterization, providing nebulizer treatmento Ventilator care and other nursing careo Administer medication and treatments according to state law• Knowledge of and comply with state mandates, district policies, and current health practices• Leads, assists or participates in training on first aid, medication, and specialized medication treatments (e.g. oral suctioning, catheterization, illness referrals, etc.)• Confers, counsels, trains and assists site administrators and school staff regarding specialized procedures and requirements• Participates in health-related training (e.g. CPR, disaster preparedness, child abuse, health education, etc.).• Leads or assists in school or individual vision and hearing screeningAll Students Achieve Academic and Personal Excellence• Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. other teachers, parents, administrators, etc.) around aspects of health services• Develops and maintains collaborative and transparent relationships with other district staff, families, and community partners• Provide services to students with disabilities identified through special education or 504 planning• Uses knowledge of communicable diseases to report such diseases to appropriate agencies and school personnel• Collaborates with community-based therapists and other healthcare providers for effective coordination of services• Assesses physical and emotional needs of students and responds consistently and appropriately to all students in a calm, reassuring and nurturing manner• Completes all documentation as required by law or prescribed by the Executive Director of Special Services• Promotes collaboration between school administration, staff and parents for the purpose of maintaining effective, consistent and regular communication between all stakeholders• Maintains timely and accurate student records, data, and reports• Attends staff and other professional meetings as appropriate or directed• Uses and integrates technology for communication• Other duties as assignedSalary:
