JOB SUMMARY The CRNA is a registered nurse and advanced practice nurse who is responsible for working in conjunction with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians and medical professionals to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education Masters Degree in Nursing Anesthesia Minimum Work Experience No previous experience Required Licenses/Certifications Registered Nurse Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist State of Texas CPR-ACLS Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies Thorough knowledge of best evidenced-based practices in anesthesia Knowledge in conflict resolution Extensive skill in observation and monitoring patients using vision, tactile sensation, and sense of smell Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures Skill in problem solving Skill in verbal and written communication Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures Ability to set priorities among multiple requests Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively
