Description

Requirements:Persons who perform periodic inspections shall be competent in the tasks they will be performing. Crane inspectors shall be technically knowledgeable, experienced, and trained in all aspects of crane operation and maintenance. They shall be able to provide records of training in, and knowledge of, applicable requirements, safety practices, and standards upon request. The employer of inspection personnel is ultimately responsible for ensuring that they are competent and capable of doing the work. At a minimum they shall have the following qualifications: a) recognized trade qualification as 
  • a journeyman electrician;
  • a journeyman millwright; or 
  • an equivalent qualification in terms of skills and knowledge, which has been reviewed and approved by an appropriate authority; and 
b) 8000 h of direct experience working on the maintenance, repair, or manufacture of cranes or hoists, or working under the direct or indirect supervision of 
  • a qualified crane inspector having 8000 h of experience; or 
  • an engineer. 
Compensation: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
