Full Time CMA Position for Busy Multi-Specialist Clinic, located in Burlington, NC

We are currently seeking patient-focused individuals for a Certified Medical Assistant to support our Internal Medicine Department as a Pod Float. This position would be located at the Burlington Kernodle Clinic location. Experience preferred but not required. EPIC experience not required, but a preferred plus. Schedule would be Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 
All candidates must be graduates of an accredited MA program, and possess a current CMA certification, preferably through AAMA or AMT.  BLS certification through AHA required.

Duties Include, but not limited to the following:
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake, including measuring and recording vital signs, weight, height and medical history. 
  • Room patients in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist providers with examinations, and procedures
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG's, vision screenings with providers order and review
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
  • When providing direct patient care, including patient related telephone conversations, employees use double identifiers to ensure right patient every time.
  • Plans, provides, and documents professional medical assisting care utilizing the medical assisting process, in accordance with physician/APP orders and established policies and procedures, under the supervision of the department manager.
  • Concisely document all patient related calls, orders, and transactions in the medical record.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked and organized between patients
  • Other clinical support responsibilities include disposing of contaminated supplies, instrument processing, high level disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments, telephoning prescriptions to a pharmacy, preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician, and authorizing drug refills as directed.
